Internet & Minimum Computer Requirements

Minimum Requirements for website use.

There are a number of different factors that contribute to how someone views websites when surfing the web. The website was designed to meet web standard to accommodate as many people as possible; however, this site uses video technology so a decent internet connection is needed (see below for details).  List below is the general minimum use requirements.  Although you may be able to use the site just fine with slower connections, hardware and older browsers we recommend you upgrade.

Browsers:
We currently support the use of
Firefox 2.2
Firefox 3 +

Internet Explorer 7
Internet Explorer 8 +

Safari 2.0
Safari 3.0+

Google Chromo 1 +

Flash Player
No matter what browser you have for watching videos on the site or viewing live streaming video events you will need "Flash Players 9" or above.  Most users now have this installed.  If you can see video on YouTube, then you can watch a video on our site.  If you would like to download the latest version of flash, you can get it at this link .

Internet connection: Video on demand
You can enjoy the site (not including live steaming video) with a connection as slow as 3.00mb/s download. If you have a DSL connection or above you should be able to watch video however you may need to pause longer videos and let them "buffer" (or pre load a little) for smooth playing, DSL connection may vary widely depending on your location. You can use this test to test your connection speed.

If your home has a broadband connection, you can watch a video fine over wireless.
We recommend a broadband internet connection for the smoothest experience.

Live Streaming Video
For live streaming video, we recomment using a cabel or broadband connection.  If you are NOT using dial up or DSL, you most likely have a broadband connection.

However, many members have had great success connecting over wire at coffee shop on there labtops! This means that our live video shows are very accessable.

You may be able to watch live steam video on a DSL connection again it depends on your location. As we do more testing, we may lower the minimum standard for live streaming video.

We'll have a live video test coming soon so you can see if video plays smooth for you.

Computer
These recommendations are based on current tests.
Use a computer with at least 512MB of ram, 1.5 GHz of processing power.

As a general rule, if your computer was purchased in the last 3 or 4 years then you are most likely fine.
